Addressing a gap in traditional professional service offerings
Ellis Zilka founded EZ Consulting in 2006 to address a gap in traditional professional service offerings that fail to take a holistic and affordable approach to addressing the needs of small and medium businesses.
While business owners have strong industry expertise, they often require financing, accounting and legal support. Their needs are typically initiative-based or sporadic and so employing full-time resources with this expertise is impractical and uneconomic.
Smaller professional services firms tend to specialise in one discipline and are unable to provide holistic support, and large multi-disciplinary firms are expensive and often service small business clients with junior staff.
EZ Consulting’s principal and associates have direct experience in large professional services firms and in founding, growing and successfully exiting small and medium-sized businesses. EZ Consulting is ideally placed to address this market gap.
About Ellis Zilka
Ellis Zilka is an experienced business professional with more than 25 years’ business advisory and managerial experience.
After graduating from the prestigious Business Information Technology Scholarship Program at UNSW, Ellis worked for KPMG Management Consulting in Sydney and Toronto. At KPMG, his specialisations included IT Strategy, Business Process Reengineering, and Organisational and Management Reviews for private and public sector organisations.
Ellis co-founded Proximity Pty Ltd, an Australian technology company that developed video and graphics management solutions for the broadcast television and post-production industries. As Director of Operations, Ellis secured Federal Government grants and international venture capital to advance the company’s R&D and export activities. Proximity won a number of local and international awards including a Technical Emmy from the National Academy of Arts and Sciences (USA).
Apple Computers Inc (USA) acquired Proximity, providing a successful exit for the company’s founders and shareholders.
Since 2006, Ellis has been Principal of EZ Consulting and an investor in private and public companies.
